چکیده

Integration of multi-mode multi-band transceivers on a single chip will enable low-cost millimeter-wave systems for next-generation automotive radar sensors. The first dual-band millimeter-wave transceiver operating in the 22–29-GHz and 77–81-GHz short-range automotive radar bands is designed and implemented in 0.18m SiGe BiCMOS technology with of 200/180 GHz. The transceiver chip includes a dual-band low noise amplifier, a shared downconversion chain, dual-band pulse formers, power amplifiers, a dual-band frequency synthesizer and a high-speed highly-programmable baseband pulse generator. The transceiver achieves 35/31-dB receive gain, 4.5/8-dB double side-band noise figure, 60/30-dB cross-band isolation, 114/ 100.4-dBc/Hz phase noise at 1-MHz offset, and 14.5/10.5-dBm transmit power in the 24/79-GHz bands. Radar functionality is also demonstrated using a loopback measurement. The 3.9 1.9-mm 24/79-GHz transceiver chip consumes 0.51/0.615 W.

Design and Verification of On-Chip Impedance-Matching Circuit Using Transmission-Line Theory for 2.4 GHz-Band Wireless Receiver Front-End

Recently, spiral inductors have widely been used instead of resistors in the design of matching circuits to enhance the thermal noise performance of a wireless transceiver. However, such elements usually have low quality factor (Q) and may encounter the self-resonance in microwave-frequency band which permits its use in higher frequencies, and on the other hand, they occupy the large on-chip sp...

A 0.35μm CMOS 1.9mA VCO-Core with Off-Chip Inductance on LTCC for System-in-a-Package Solutions of a 5-GHz-WLAN Transceiver

This paper presents a 5-GHz-Band VCO designed for System-in-a-package (SiP) usage. The VCO consists of a CMOS-core and was designed and optimized concerning phase noise, current consumption and tuning-range by exploiting the potential of SiP-mounting. The measurement results as well as the theoretical background are presented. The chips were fabricated in a 0.35 μm BiCMOS-technology and operate...
